What arrives in the kit?

A ready-to-assemble timber package, prepared in our shop. Standard kits include precut framing, preassembled trusses, hardware, drawings, and 2×8 pine tongue-and-groove decking. Roofing and stain follow your selections; standard post height is 8 feet.

    • Ridge beam and rafters
  • Preassembled Trusses

    • Timber trusses assembled in our shop

  • Your Roofing Choice

    • Roofing material for your selected package
    • Metal, shingle, or no-roofing options
Plan for separately: decking fasteners, site preparation, foundation work, unloading equipment, installation, and any separately quoted shipping, stain, or engineering. A no-roofing configuration will have different contents.

The framing is precut and the trusses are preassembled. On site, your carpenter sets and braces the posts, installs the framing and trusses, then fits and fastens the decking and roofing. Stain touch-ups are expected after assembly.

Compare wood and finishes

Find the wood that feels right for your space. Start with our kiln-dried pine or explore pressure-treated pine, Cypress, and Eastern Red Cedar. We’ll help you choose a finish and work through availability and pricing.

Kiln-dried pine

$

Our standard wood and best-value choice. Light color, natural knots, and warm grain give pine its familiar timber look. It takes stain well, and kiln drying reduces moisture before we build your kit. Regular finish care helps keep it looking its best.

Illustrative Pressure-treated pine wood texture

Pressure-treated pine

$$

The familiar look of pine, treated for added resistance to decay and insects. Its color changes as it dries and weathers. We use a penetrating, water-based stain to bring out the grain and add color while keeping the natural wood texture visible.

Illustrative Cypress wood texture

Cypress

$$$

Cypress brings warm, golden tones and distinctive grain to your pavilion. It’s a popular choice for its outdoor character and natural durability, which varies with the timber and exposure. Regular stain care helps preserve its color; unfinished wood weathers toward gray.

Illustrative Eastern Red Cedar wood texture

Eastern Red Cedar

$$$$

Rich red tones and lighter streaks make Eastern Red Cedar stand out. Cedar timbers are often more knotty and rugged, giving your pavilion a rustic character. Its heartwood naturally resists decay, and a maintained exterior finish helps protect the wood and preserve its color.

Natural grain, knots, and color give every timber its own character. Stain brings out those details differently in each wood species, and colors on your screen may look a little different from the finished wood.

Roofing: compare metal and shingle options alongside the decking, trim, and fasteners specified in your quote. Roof color and stain work together—choose them as a complete palette.

All three styles are available on our pavilions. Natural grain and color vary, and your chosen stain changes the finished appearance.

Choose your plating

Full Plating

Both outer and interior trusses receive the full connector-plate package for a consistent appearance throughout.

Minimal Plating

The two outer gable trusses retain full plating. Interior plating is used where required for your pavilion’s design.

For pavilion spans up to 20 feet, the bottom chord is a single timber. Wider spans use two timbers joined with a splice plate. Both plating packages include L corner post plates, T middle post plates, and rafter connectors.

How does minimal plating compare with full plating?

Full plating carries the connector-plate appearance through both outer and interior trusses. Minimal plating keeps full plating on the outer gables, with interior plating used where required for the design. Reducing decorative plating may reduce cost when the pavilion’s design allows it.

How can I lower the cost of my pavilion kit?

Ask about reducing decorative plating where the pavilion’s design allows it. You can also compare a smaller footprint, choose kiln-dried pine as our standard wood option, or choose an unstained kit and finish it yourself.

Picking up your kit at our Henderson shop avoids delivery charges. Compare roofing and wood choices in your quote to see how each affects the price.
